Simplicity Church Network

You Don’t Need a Stage to Start a Simple Church.

You don’t need a title, a building, or a Sunday schedule.
You don’t need to be an expert — just willing.

If you are rooted in Jesus, led by the Spirit, and ready to gather others in His name,
you already have what it takes to begin.

Where Simple Church Happens

Simple churches are forming in all kinds of places:

Homes

families and friends living out faith together

Online

virtual gatherings across cities, states, and nations

Marketplace

discipleship and prayer inside workplaces and businesses

Global Missions

frontline movements forming from evangelism and obedience

It’s not about location — it’s about life in Christ, shared in real spaces.

What Is a Simple Church?

A simple church is a gathering of believers where:

  • Jesus is at the center
  • The Spirit leads, not a script
  • Participation is open, not performance-driven
  • People grow together as disciples
  • Mission is lived out daily, not programmed weekly

No two gatherings will look exactly the same — and that’s the point.

Create a wide-angle, inviting image that visually captures the essence of a simple church — a small, diverse group of people gathered naturally in a home or outdoor setting (like a living room, backyard, or park). The group is relaxed and engaged — praying, sharing a meal, reading Scripture, or talking with genuine connection. The atmosphere should feel Spirit-led, participatory, and warm — not formal or staged. Lighting: soft natural light or warm golden-hour tones. Mood: peaceful, authentic, and filled with a sense of shared purpose and love. Avoid: pulpits, stages, pews, or institutional church imagery. Design Style: minimalist, natural, and welcoming. Color Palette: warm neutrals, soft greens, and earthy tones to symbolize organic growth and community.

How to Start (Without a Program)

Here’s a Spirit-led, adaptable framework for starting a gathering in any space:

Pray and Pay Attention

Ask the Lord:

“Where are You already working — online, at work, in my neighborhood, or in the nations?”

The Spirit often invites us to see differently before we start anything new.

Gather Intentionally (Where You Are)

Start with a few people — coworkers, neighbors, friends, fellow missionaries, or online connections.

  • Open Scripture together
  • Pray with and for each other
  • Listen to the Spirit
  • Invite everyone to contribute

You can meet in a home, a break room, a Zoom call, a dorm, or under a tree.
If Jesus is there — it’s church.

Live as the Church, Not Just "Do Church"

Discipleship doesn’t happen in meetings alone.
Look for ways to:

  • Share meals and moments
  • Invite your family and co-workers in
  • Live out generosity, forgiveness, and faith in your everyday space
  • Multiply by sending, not just adding

Multiply Naturally

As people grow, the Spirit may lead you to:

  • Send others to start new gatherings
  • Disciple new leaders
  • Support another mission field or city
  • Keep things small and intimate — and stay flexible

Growth in the Kingdom rarely looks like scale — it looks like faithfulness.
