The Foundations: Early Writings that Sparked a Movement
Before there was a network, a vision document, or a discipleship model, there were blog posts.
These entries—written in prayer, in wrestling, in breakthrough—mark the earliest steps toward what would become the Simplicity Church Network.
You’ll find raw language here. Unfinished thoughts. But you’ll also find the heartbeat of a Church that is rooted in Jesus, led by the Spirit, and alive in everyday places.

About the Author
These early writings come from Carl Willis, who, at the time, was transitioning from the role of a traditional pastor into an unfamiliar but Spirit-led journey that would eventually become Simplicity Church Network.
What you’ll find here are raw, unfiltered reflections written in real time — as Carl wrestled with leaving behind the structures of institutional ministry to follow Jesus into something simpler, more relational, and deeply rooted in the New Testament pattern of Church.
These posts are not polished strategies — they are mile markers in a journey of surrender, discovery, and listening to the voice of the Shepherd over the expectations of man.
